Carrousel du Louvre, Paris
A vibrant selection of ink drawings and structural line works presented at the Carrousel du Louvre, showcasing Beba’s transition into bold color, rhythmic form, and the introspective Inner Me series.
In 2013, Beba presented a new body of work at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris—a moment that signaled a shift from the delicate monochrome movement of her early drawings toward a confident, chromatic expression. The exhibition brought together ink works, figurative abstractions, and experimental line studies, revealing an artist expanding the borders of her visual vocabulary.
The presentation emphasized rhythm, duality, and emotional velocity. Highly stylized figures, wrapped in bands of saturated color, appeared suspended between motion and transformation. Their elongated silhouettes carried a sense of theatricality, yet remained anchored in Beba’s hallmark economy of line. Alongside them, the Inner Me series introduced a more internal register—a layering of fine black lines that suggested bodies formed from accumulated gestures, thoughts, and tensions.
Seen together, the works revealed the coexistence of two impulses: the outward joy of movement and the inward complexity of being. This duality resonated with Parisian audiences, marking the exhibition as an important encounter between Beba’s evolving practice and one of Europe’s most discerning art capitals.
